Many thanks to Ruben Rosario of the St. Paul Pioneer Press for running a story on me in their Sunday paper today! Ruben and I had a great chat on Friday, and I loved meeting him over the phone. Here’s a link to the article. And here’s a link to sample more of Ruben’s work–use the sidebar to see the different articles. Ruben covers a lot of crime, social justice, and public safety topics. This was a very special interview, by a man who is, no doubt, a very special interviewer. He listened, he was patient & kind. Can you ask for any more than that? Thank you RUBEN.

Opening for Bo Bice. The Wagon Wheel, Warsaw, IN. March 15th.

The last of the dates opening for Bo. Back to my regular way of commuting to gigs (via car not tour bus.) This was a great venue with a circular stage…pretty cool. It was also great b/c the audience was so close to us, that it felt really cozy! Below are a couple photos.

Opening for Bo Bice. The Crofoot: Pontiac, Michigan. March 13th.

Friday the 13th, and all of our guitars were spooked. In spite of it all…still a good show, I hope.

Before the show, I hopped off the bus at the hotel to get a little work done. I hate to say it but even a fancy tour bus gets crowded at times!

Opening for Bo Bice. 20th Century Theater. Cincinnati, OH.

This was a day of a lot of firsts for me. 1st time opening for Bo. 1st time on a tour bus. 1st time sleeping in a bunk. 1st time I’ve played SOLO in front of over 500 people, 1st time signing autographs (hilarious!)…
This photo was also a first.

Vanderbilt Adult Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic. Nashville, TN. March 11th.

This is an amazing group of people who meet once a week to support each other and work through some of the struggles of their mental illness as a group. Each meeting starts with a “check in;” every person in the room updates the group about what’s happened that week: their struggles, and their triumphs.

It was an honor and blessing to get to play for these folks for a second time. No photos b/c  I have to respect their privacy!

Campus for Human Development. Nashville, TN. March 10th.

I played in the “day room” for the homeless population that use this room to get out of the elements. This was the 2nd time I’ve played the CHD, and again it was moving, and humbling to get to play for these folks.

Friends, as the last few weeks of “90 in 90″ gear up and get crazy, I thought I’d take a couple seconds to thank several folks and direct you to some great sites.

1) The final benefit show (aka the 90th Gig!!!!) will be at the EXIT/IN right here in Nashville on Wednesday,  April 1st @ 8pm. I am still trying to book all the “special guests” and  I would love to be able to gift the Butler Center with a huge donation from this night so if you happen to know any amazing artists who might be willing to be on the bill with us, send them my way!!! Email me @ 90in90@gmail.com

If you’d like to help me put up posters for this show email me at  90in90@gmail.com for info!

2) Here’s a new promo video for the last 30 days of “90 in 90.”

3) Last summer, right after the record came out, I did an interview with Jim Malec of the blog the9513.com. This was one of my favorite interviews b/c Jim is a great writer, and a really thoughtful interviewer. We were also very humbled that The 9513 would highlight our little record in the sea of major label releases. To read that interview click here.

Then, unbenounced to me until about a week ago, Brady Vercher of The 9513 named my record, Radio Skies, one of the most overlooked records of 2008. To read what Brady says about it click here. Suffice it to say, that I’m very grateful for The 9513’s continued encouragement and support. THANKS GUYS!!

Also, they recently posted a little blurb about “90 in 90″ as well. Here it is!

3) Friends have sent me to several websites which focus on addiction recovery in the music world, and I’d like to pass them on to you here:

MusiCares MAP fund: this is part of the Grammy Foundation which provides funds for musicians in need of addiction treatment. Amazing.

Sober Musicians: a wealth of information on living well in recovery, support system, lots of great links & resources.
